Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Nuclear Engineer to work in our Reactor, Technology and Integration department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
As the Multiphysics Nuclear Engineer for Molten Salt Technology Application you will apply nuclear engineering principles and methods to design, develop, test, and analyze nuclear equipment and systems - specifically focusing on molten salt technology applications. This entry analyst position will integrate various physics (i.e., multi physics) utilizing NEAMS based MOOSE codes to perform various analyses of molten salt systems. Most of the initial work will focus on validating existing electrochemical models of salt and structure interactions from experiment salt loop data and electrochemical experiments using fluoride and chloride salts. Future work may focus more heavily on applying these methods towards enhancing pyro-processing efficiencies, molten salt fusion blanket design, and Molten Salt Reactor fuel cycle non-proliferation analysis. This position is part of the INL Nuclear Nexus.
